So I don't know if your cats are like this, but when my cats take a sh*t they stick up the whole room for a good 10 minutes...even when I've cleaned up directly after them.

In fact, I wonder what they think when I swoop down and pick up their poop immediately so that it doesn't stink the room too badly. I wonder if they think somehow their poop has magically vanished. One second they were about to cover it up with litter, and the next second it is gone...

Hector especially. His stink is the worst. I have to leave the fan on in the bathroom where his litter is for a good 20 minutes after he goes. But if I am at my grandmother's apartment when he dumps one, and I can catch him in the act, I wait until he has kind of moved away from it which usually means he's facing away from it, and I just come in from behind and snatch up his poop in a plastic bag. I wonder if he turns around and is like, "Hey! Where did it go??? I didn't even get a chance to smell it yet!" Hector tends to have a perplexed look on his face when all this happens so I just wonder if he wonders what is going on, and who is trying to sabotage his poop ritual.
